Strategic Asset Management
The Strategic Asset Management (SAM) Team works with our NHS partners to help them get the best out of their buildings and facilities. The NHS’s land and buildings plays a crucial part in delivering good services for local people. Sometimes, however, it is in poor condition or no longer suitable for modern health care – and actually holds services back. Even new buildings – including those developed as part of the NHS LIFT programme – are sometimes under-used.
Renova’s aim is to ensure that our NHS partners are making the very best use of their buildings before helping them to develop more facilities. The SAM Team leads this work.
SAM draws on the work of different parts of the NHS when it reviews the use of existing buildings and facilities. The Clinical Commissioning Group’s plans, NHS England’s strategies, and the work of Community Health Partnerships and NHS Property Services all influence a SAM review. It means that service commissioners can be sure that the right facilities are there to support, for example, care closer to home programmes and other community-based services.
The SAM Team services include:
- Devising estates strategies
